Movers and Shapers Curly Label

This die got a long name.  I was just playing with it, and this 3 second card came out of it. Don't pay to much attention to it... I just wanted you to see the little window there :D

 

This is how it works:

With this die you get a regular size card (5 1/2" x 4 1/4")  The die cuts and scores your card stock... the only thing (in my opinion) is that it works best if you put a 12" x 4 1/2" sheet, otherwise you'll have to struggle when you put the extended cutting pad on top.

 

The "mover" has magnets on the back, so you can place it wherever you want.

 

 

It's exclusive to Stampin' Up!, and it coordinates with the Curly Label punch, and of course the Cute & Curly stamp set. One of you asked me how thick the dies are... the Bigz XL dies are only 3/4" thick, and a little bit over 13" long.  I found the perfect place for them in a new "multi-functional organizer" that I bought at Michaels.

New toys

Finally, I got my new things today... We don't have super fast shipping like in the States... so we have to patiently wait for 10 days to get our things... The wait is over :D

 

And then, like the Mary Poppins' bag, I lifted the Circle Scissor Plus to discover more things

 

And on the bottom I found the new Sweet Slumber Specialty DSP... so thick... I'll make card bases with it. And the new DSP Good Morning Sunshine (just the name makes it nice). The new Jumbo brads are lovely, and so are the Corduroy buttons...

You'll be seeing all these new things in the following posts... Yes, that Fifth Avenue Floral set is screaming for some ink...  :)

Butterfly award, butterfly card

LeAnne from Wee Inklings sent me this new award!  (New for me)

   

Thank you LeAnne, I know her because she's also playing with the Mojo Monday sketches :D   And I didn't post earlier because I just go my new Beautiful Butterflies die, for the Big Shot, and it's so pretty.

So, I made this card, and I also used the new Eyelet Border punch

 

 

This is a 3 minute card. The half pearls and the "antennas" (is that how you call them?) are from the Pretties Kit, I white embossed the word "thanks" from the set Thank you kindly

This is what you have to do:

1. Post the award(s) logo in your blog

A birthday and a Valentine

This week's Mojo Monday's sketch was fun to make.  I even made two versions for it:

This is the main card for this challenge, an almost non-stamping one, it only took me around 4 hours to make... because I came and went, had dinner, came back, etc, etc, don't worry, once you have the paper cut out, all cards go fast, that's the nice thing about making cards... The Chocolate Chip ink was used to sponge the edges of the Whisper White card stock, and to stamp one cupcake inside. 

 

 

The owl comes from the rub-ons Loop to Loop, and the words come from the package Chit Chat.

The DSP is called Hand Drawn, the card stock is Whisper White (textured and regular), Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip.  The ribbon is Old Olive, and there's a clip there from the Clips Assortment, a lot of dimensionals, and I used the 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" square punches.

This one is mounted on Very Vanilla Confetti card stock, I sponged the main image and the Candy LaneDSP with Close to Cocoa ink, same as the card stock for the mats. The set is Happy Heart Day.

I saw the detail made with the spiral punch somewhere... and having space, like in this case with this image, I thought it would look nice. The other punches are the Heart to Heart (for the little hear), and both Tags. It's difficult to see in the picture, look closely in the close-up picture and you'll see on the tag a ribbon slider from the Silver Hodgepodge Hardware, and the ribbon around it is the Riding Hood Red taffeta. It has a good amount of dimensionals, and the ribbon is the Chocolate Chip double-stitched grosgrain

Both cards measure 5 1/4" x 5 1/4", I guess they'll fit in the medium square envelopes that SU sells, but I don't know, I'll have to order some and see :D

Please, open your books...

...On page 126!  (Canadian version) I need 10 full cards for this Saturday's swap, and I found all the ingredients to make this card, I just changed it into a Valentine's one.  Plus Cameo Coral is not a colour that I use much, so I wanted to try something different.

The guidelines for this swap was to make full cards. When you swap you can do "card fronts", which are 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" or you can do "mountable card fronts", which are 5 1/4" x 4".

   

 

To make this card, you need the following ingredients:

Stamp sets: Mark the Date, Full Calendar, and Love you much.  (To get the calendar and the month in place I used the stamp-a-ma-jig

Paper: Cameo Coral (textured and regular), Rose Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and Urban Garden DSP (the piece used here is Kiwi Kiss)

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Rose Red

Ribbon: Chocolate Chip grosgrain

Plus dimensionals, and the Heart to Heart punch, still on sale when you get the Love You Much Bundle ;)

Friendship Squares - The shadow box

In December, 16 Divas (from St. Catharines) did a 3x3 swap  And I finally put them in their box (bought in Ikea, model Ribba)

       

The word "friends" is a rub-on from the package Hidden Garden, and on the frame I put a little one that says: "Cherish every moment with those you love". The ribbon is Chocolate Chip taffeta (now retired)

We all have the same squares, and on Friday some Divas took their boxes to Diva Night, and they are all different! So try making one with your friends, or just on your own, have fun!

The same but different

I have to confess that I had a hard time working last weekend... I had a lot of ideas, and they just didn't work...

This one did!  I used the set Eastern Blooms, embossed in white directly on the Urban Garden DSP, which was run through the Big Shot, using the Top Note die. Kiwi Kiss taffeta ribbon, a rub-on and silver hardware, the little background flower is stamped with Chocolate Chip ink

 

And then I tried to do it again, with another set, this time, Inspired by Nature, now in the Dormant List, which means, it's not in the catty, but you can still buy it. A rub-on for the words, the card stock, is Not Quite Navy and Riding Hood Red.  At the end I did strugle with this one to find a card base...

 

I think it's fun embossing directly on the designer paper... try it! Just don't burn the paper... I didn't do it, but it's easy to over heat it, so be careful!

When I go to visit other blogs, I always see that they have awards for having a nice blog, or being creative, etc. However, this time I'm the recipient, not of one, but 2 awards.

My cyber-friend Cuchy, from Spain, thought about me, and made my day!   Although my creativity comes and goes, and goes again, all the things that you see here are really made with love, I enjoy it a lot, and I hope you do too!

Now in colour

Now it's a colour challenge... this week has been very challenging :D

This time is Kristina's Color Inspiration, and here are my versions:

 

Both cards are 6x3. I used the textured card stock, it looks very elegant, it's difficult to see in the picture.

   

This one uses the new Designer hardware called Hooray, you have to use the crop-a-dile to place it, and the rub-ons are from the package Loop to Loop, a Hostess Benefit Level 3
