Here's the book that I'm sending to Belgium, again it's an 8" x 8":

For the moment, when you make a Hard Photo Cover, there's a bar code that automatically gets printed into the back cover of your book. So just make sure you don't put anything valuable on that area, because it will be cover with the code.

Don't forget to put your name and the copyright stamp (several to choose from) on your album!

Thank you - Square and Circle

Tanya gave me this card, done with the Scallop Circle and Beautiful Butterflies dies for the Big Shot, thanks Tanya! :D And that gave me the idea to make a square card, with the Scallop Square die.

Dazzle and Designs (DCBD 137)

I used my new and pretty rub-ons from the package Dots and Desings (115728 - $15.95) And the colours for the card stock are based on the rub-on: Chocolate Chip, Ruby Red, and Whisper White. And a stamp from each of the sets: Un dia en el Parque and Razzle Dazzle. Embossed with white and clear powders. The ribbon is Pretty in Pink taffeta. Dimensionals give the last touch.

My only tip is that when you use rub-ons with several colours on them (like in this case), make sure to go over it a couple of more times of what you would normally do... And remove the paper carefully and slowly, just to make sure everything is on the card stock or on the surface where you're placing them.

Feel free to add any sentiment that you want ;)  The Chit Chat rub-ons can be a great choice!  Everything you see here, you can easily find it at my online store, make sure you have a Canadian address, please.

Hello from Korea

Mr. D. went to Korea and brought me a package of cute stickers... He's sending some pictures of the trip to his mom in Belgium, and I'm in charge of making the card to put them inside.  I found a sketch that would be a good way to show the stickers. The sketch comes from Clean and Simple.

 

Card stock: Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Melon Mambo. Extras: 3/4" and 1" circle punches, Bermuda Bay polka-dot ribbon, dimensionals, rub-ons.

Firendly words and grommets

I made this card for Reto Latino #12

I thought the sketch was good to add some Jumbo grommets, so I used my 1/2" circle punch to make the holes... and the grommets fit perfectly.

Wheel: Friendly Words - Ink: Chocolate Chip - Paper: Whisper White, Bella Rose, Parisian Breeze - Extras: 1 1/4" square punch, Chocolate Chip poly-twill ribbon

 

The only "but" in using the punch is that, either you put the grommets on the edge of the card (like in this case), or on a separate piece of card stock... However, I like that you don't damage the paper like when you just press them into the card stock. And you can go through 2 layers of it easily with the punch.

Voila! Now you know, and now you can easily add jumbo grommets to your project!

About Stampin' Pastels, or also known as chalks...

Using chalks for your cards making or scrap booking ideas is a fantastic way of adding extra color to your pages. Chalks can also be used to create shadows or to shade in the edges of torn or ripped paper.

Applying chalks to any project can be done in a variety of ways. There really is not any need to spend a large amount of money on specialized application sponges. You can simply use eye make up applicators, cotton buds, cotton wool all of which do the job just as well with a variety of looks, not to mention being a whole lot cheaper...

Busting three myths about Scrapbooking

    When I tell people about what I do, I often hear things like; "I am not creative at all", "I just don't have the time" , "I would love to be able to scrapbook". If you have the desire to scrapbook, you can make to happen. Read on... three common scrapbooking myths are about to be BUSTED!

Scrapbooking Myth #1: There's no time to scrapbook. Scrapping doesn't require more time than you are willing to give to yourself for other activities (like exercise or the spa), it just requires scheduling. Most retail stores post their scrapbooking times 2 to 3 months in advance.

Independent consultants offer workshops as well and will likely have their schedules prepared 4 to 6 months in advance. My friend, Jackie, only scrapbooks twice a year - at weekend retreat events an independent consultant runs. Jackie knows 6 months in advance when the next retreat will happen and works her family calendar around it. She is able to remain up to date with her photo projects by simply making the most of these two opportunities. In my experience, busy people get things done - because of planning.

Scrapbooking Myth #2: You have to be creative to make a scrapbook style photo album. Putting photos into safe albums is mostly about preserving the memories & stories that the photos represent. Some of my favorite album pages are 'naked'. They lack any stickers or embellishments whatsoever. I love pages like this because they celebrate the memories. Digital scrapbooking and pre-designed layouts make things easier. Just add pictures and your words and you have a beautiful page!

Scrapbooking Myth #3: Scrapbooks are for families with kids. As long as you are taking pictures, kids or no kids, there's plenty to work on! Look at your pictures, aren't they worthy of celebration? It's time to show off your exciting life! Celebrate your everyday, your family and friends. Your story is worth telling and sharing, putting these stories and memories into a safe album is a great way to do this! Now that you know how to bust these myths, it is time to get started. Find a few pictures, find some friends or some help from a store or consultant and celebrate your memories.

Ovals

Oval: n.  An egg-shaped or elliptical form or figure.

These are ovals made with the punches, each line marks 1/4" so you can get an idea of their size:

 

These are made using the Sizzix die -  Ovals:

 

And this is using the die Frame, Oval Scallop

   

When mounted together they fit with each other... not all of them, though

 

The Wide Oval punch is just a tiny bit smaller than the smallest oval from the Sizzix die Ovals

 

With the Coluzzle Cutting System you can cut ovals in increments of 1/4" up to 5" x 4-3/16" (approx.) 

I hope this gives you a better idea of our ovals. And for circles you can get punches, dies, or the great Circle Scissor Plus, that makes any size of circle up to 6" wide.
